The Brief
Brief & My Proposal
Seth the Head Brewer at Copperhead wanted an addictive design for Citraddicted. As usual I was inspired by the fun name of the beer 'Citraddicted' - the notion that the Citra hops in the IPA were so tasty they'd be addictive. Moving forward with that in mind I thought how funny it would be if the snakes (which make a regular appearance in all Copperhead's artworks) were addicted to Citra hops. I wanted to depict the snakes in a frenzy, trying to gobble up all the Citra hops and devouring so many that they themselves start to resemble a Citra hop!

The Design
From initial sketch to finished render
I knew I wanted a vivid colour palette for this design to help convey the craziness of the thirsty snakes. A neon green and purple were the colours of choice and a custom hand drawn font for the title resembling a bolt of frantic energy.

3D Visuals in Adobe Dimension
Sometimes clients have a hard time visualizing how a design would look on the finished product. So I used Adobe Dimension to create a 3D mock up of how the label would look on the cans.

The Outcome
The Outcome
The finished product was electric, something that would definitely catch the eye of a thirsty shopper. This design has since been used of Copperhead glassware and merch.
